Tap Dance is a GLOBAL CELEBRATION! Pictured here we have dancers from Brazil, Puerto Rico, and France, coming together to share culture and rhythm. Through our work, this connection is possible!

FEBRUARY

With all the work we do and the spaces we are invited to, we are committed to uplifting our community - when working with the Rockettes, we invited Chloé and Maud Foundation students and interns to come be a part of the workshopping process.

Dance transcends language and is crucial to culture! In NYC, after a Black History Month class with Chloé at Steps on Broadway, an improv circle led to a beautiful exchange of dance between the Foreman Brothers, our mentees and scholarship recipients, and Les Gamal's, our new friends from Paris. Making connections and building community is such a key part of our mission!

We were so happy to see our mentees and previous scholarship recipients Alaman Diadhiou and Crystal Burton make their NYC debut with Jelly's

Last Jam at New York City Center! Alaman played Young Jelly Roll Morton and Crystal was a shining star in the ensemble, performing alongside Broadway legends.

The next generation of Syncopated Ladies is HERE and making us so proud! At a Black History Month event for middle and high school students in Tucson, AZ, two Foundation mentees Ire Omitowoju and Lacey Lemon made their Sync Ladies debut! As part of the educational mission of the show, Lacey taught students about the legacy of hip hop and Ire discussed majorette dance in celebration of our rich and beautiful culture.
