This year, we celebrate 20 years of community engagement in Brazil. Maud first visited Brazil on a scholarship in high school as part of a summer abroad program, and it changed her life. 20 years later, Chloé and Maud have aided several Brazilian tap dancers with artist visas to pursue their careers in the U.S., produced Sync Ladies empowerment camps, funded tap festivals, established three thriving free after-school programs in favelas, built community, created opportunities, and along the way, made lifelong friends that have become family. We are only inspired to engage further, expand our programming, build more bridges for young artists worldwide, and encourage them to lead lives full of joy and possibility! OBRIGADA!
JANUARY
Maud Volunteered with the hardworking students at Debbie Allen Middle School, working through the curriculum of More Than Moves: A Dancer's Guided Journal. Through meaningful discussions and following the journal's 12-week program and prompts, the students explore themes of gratitude and self-love, learning to appreciate and celebrate their own strengths and value.

Many of our students in Brazil experience economic hardship, and often can't afford tap shoes. While visiting, we facilitated a giveaway of Chloé and Maud tap shoes in partnership with Bloch Brazil and thanks to generous community donors!
This year, one of our students, Manuela, came to us and said "I am taking a course in English to speak with you better!" Tap Into Life inspires our students to grow beyond their circumstances and the dance floor.

Community is everything! We're so deeply invested in lifting people up and celebrating each other's wins. Our annual Vision Boarding night is a celebration of imagining what's possible and willing it into existence - we gather scholarship students, Foundation alumni, and established professionals exceeding in their fields, who inspire each other to reach further and dream bigger. Alaman, one of our first scholarship students, is now on tour with MJ the Musical, performing as Michael Jackson himself!
Chloé and Maud Have an exciting project in the works in New York City - working with the iconic Rockettes! With every new door opened, we bring our students with us to offer incredible learning opportunities.
Our youth company, Sole Talk, is committed to training and empowering young tap dancers in a diverse and positive environment. We focus on tap dance technique, self-esteem building, entrepreneurship skills, networking, and community service! Our dream is to help the next generation of thoughtful, intelligent, creative, free-thinking leaders flourish!
